COGENERATION and HYDROELECTRIC
ArcSine Engineering
has extensive experience in planning and design of cogeneration and hydroelectric facilities. Planning includes feasibility studies with
electric (and thermal, if applicable) load analysis, conceptual design,
economic analysis, and optimal system selection. Design work includes
power distribution, instrumentation and controls, lighting, and peripheral
systems. Both planning and design efforts include coordination with the
serving gas and electric utility. We also perform services during
construction including submittal reviews, coordination with contractors,
inspection, and assistance with startup. Following is a partial list of
ArcSine projects.
COGENERATION
Performed electrical design, including short-circuit
calculations and coordination of protective devices, and assisted with
startup of a 12-megawatt synchronous generator project in Chester,
California.
-
SANTA ROSA COGENERATION PROJECT
Field investigation, analysis, and conceptual
design of a 60-kilowatt plus 30-kilowatt cogeneration system to feed
community center electrical loads and heat a public swimming pool and
domestic water.
-
ENTERPRISE HIGH SCHOOL COGENERATION PROJECT
Field investigation, analysis, and conceptual
design of a 60-kilowatt cogeneration system to feed school electrical
loads and heat the swimming pool. To minimize extensive connection
provisions particular to the serving electric utility, the system
included a dual-rated cogeneration unit and special controls.
-
SHASTA HIGH SCHOOL COGENERATION PROJECT
Field investigation, analysis, and conceptual
design of a cogeneration system to serve a high school campus with
seven independent electric services.
HYDROELECTRIC
-
SEWARD HYDROELECTRIC PROJECT
Performed preliminary electrical design for a
25-kilowatt induction generator project for the City of Seward,
Alaska.
-
BOULDER CREEK HYDROELECTRIC PROJECT
Performed the electrical design for a 320-kilowatt
synchronous generator hydroelectric project in Pablo, Montana.
-
BAILEY CREEK HYDROELECTRIC PROJECT
Performed electrical design for a 720-kilowatt
synchronous generator project in Manton, California.
-
WINCHESTER HYDROELECTRIC PROJECT
Prepared detailed performance specifications for
two 750-kilowatt induction generators for a project in Roseburg,
Oregon.
-
ARBUCKLE MOUNTAIN HYDROELECTRIC PROJECT
Performed preliminary electrical design of a
350-kilowatt synchronous generator project in Platina, California.
-
McMILLAN HYDROELECTRIC PROJECT
Performed the electrical design for a project in
Round Mountain, California, utilizing a 160-kilowatt synchronous
generator plus several smaller induction generators.
